Carpe Diem pairs up Girard Winery for a spectacular evening!
Join us as we open the doors at our Girard cellar in Los Carneros, CA for the first time to the public! Join special guest, Girard Winemaker, Glenn Hugo, as he hosts our inaugural Winemaker Dinner in Girard's Cellar! Carpe Diem, one of Napa Valley's trendsetting eateries, will be catering the affair. They'll be serving up appetizers to kick start the evening, followed by a sit-down, 4-course meal (see menu below), paired alongside all of your Girard favorites: 2010 Girard Sauvignon Blanc, 2010 Russian River Valley Chardonnay, 2009 Mixed Black, 2007 Mount Veeder Cabernet Sauvignon and 2009 Petite Sirah

Crostini with goat cheese white truffle flan, pomegranate glaze, micro greens
Paired With: 2010 girard sauvignon blanc,
crisp, clean and refreshing with lush aromas of pineapple,
guava and banana
la salade:
Smoked trout salad with field greens, chardonnay - mustard vinaigrette, pickled red onions, apple and toasted almonds
Paired With: 2010 girard russian river valley chardonnay,
aromas of prickly pear, roasted hazelnut and vanilla bean
express themselves across the dazzling palate
du canard
Sonoma duck confit and local yellow foot chanterelle mushroom ragu over creamy smoked gouda grits, roasted onions, duck chicharrones and Mixed Blacks reduction sauce
Paired With: 2009 girard mixed blacks,
our medium-bodied “field blend” shows a mouthful of
chocolate-covered strawberries, wild plums and cassis

Venison osso bucco over parsnip farro “risotto” and crispy carrots
Paired With: 2007 girard mt. veeder cabernet sauvignon,
hints of dark blackberries, stewed figs and chocolate
mousse show the beauty of this Cabernet Sauvignon
